If you're shopping in Westwood or just looking for a nice place to stop for a casual, yet fun atmosphere, I highly suggest Diddy Riese Cookies!
It was a small family shop opened in 1983 that became a hit and remained popular ever since. It is a small little shop serving a huge variety of cookies, brownies, and twelve flavors of Dreyers premium grand ice cream. The reason it is so popular is because the location is in Westwood, and it tends to be a really crowded area that is open really late, which makes it a hot spot for a quick dessert and mingle with friends or family.
They are known for their delicious combinations of cookies and ice cream, which you can even build-your-own creations! Their prices are very affordable ranging from &1.75 for an ice cream sandwich that you can create as you wish or an ice cream sundae to just $0.33 for one cookie or 3 for $1.00, and $2.00 for a delicious cookie sundae! Shaved w/ice cream is also available for just $1.50. The prices are not bad for a place in fancy LA, and they are affordable!
The shop is located right near UCLA, right in the center of the historic Westwood Village, Bruin movie theaters, and big brand shops in Westwood. The lines tend to be quite crowded because it is not a sit-in type of dessert place, but very well worth it if you're looking for a casual place for dessert and a fun atmosphere!
